MARKET REPRESENTATIVE

PART-TIME HOURS: 4-8 per shift, 1-4 shifts/week, seasonal role

Pay Range: $15/hour with incentive bonuses for attendance & demonstrated abilities.

Primary Responsibilities: Assurance of quality experience for customers and co-workers while representing the Edgewood Apiaries Brand; actively engaged retails sales and distribution of products, record keeping and financial management for farmers markets and local festivals/events.

Duties:

1.     Set-up and breakdown of pop-up store (tent, tables, displays) to make the market site ready with appealing displays that facilitate efficient sales flow and a high-quality experience for the customer.

2.     Premium customer service to all customers with active engagement/presence and personable interactions; this includes conveying familiarity with products and gratitude with promoting the products.

3.     Accurately completes sales ensuring customer payments process (wifi can be challenging in some areas – we work to ensure this does not effect our customer experience).

4.     Attends marketing meetings to maintain knowledge of weekly changes to product availability, promotions, new product launches, etc.

5.     Communication with Market Manager on inventory status, customer feed-back, sell through rates, scheduling, etc. This communication correspondence is preferred via Zoom (virtual in-person meetings).

6.     Cash drawer accuracy. Cash drawers will be audited regularly. Representative is responsible for balancing of drawer.

7.     Performs other duties as requested by the Market Manager when necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1.     Passion for local farming, beekeeping, handcrafted products and/or the agriculture/specialty food industry.

2.     Ability to operate and present professionally and positively in a sale representative position. You are a part of the Edgewood Apiaries Brand.

3.     Ability to operate safely in the workplace.

4.     Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, accurately and fluidly promoting the Edgewood Brand.

5.     Attention to detail, ability to manage cash drawer and work point of sale system.

6.     Enthusiasm, good attitude, trustworthiness, personal integrity and honesty.  

7.     Ability to work autonomously and distinguish when to delegate or ask for input/help.

8.     Mindfulness of asset security, store front displays, and employee/customer relations.

 

Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:

1.     Experiences in service, agriculture, sales and/or marketing positions.

2.     Accurate and quick mental math

3.     Highly developed communication skills

4.     Ability to successfully pass a background check and other pre-employment screening.

5.     Availability March-December; including weekends. Reliability is key: no call outs day-of and timeliness is a MUST. Third party market management has strict operating guidelines we follow to maintain proper market conditions for other vendors and customers.

6.     Attendance: 90% or higher attendance through the market season. Days off can be planned with 14-30 days notice so we can position backup support.

Physical Requirements:

1.     Able to bend, kneel, slide, shuffle, push and pull 30-50lbs safely and independently.

2.     Able to tolerate extreme temperatures and/or weather safely while maintaining a good attitude. 

3.     Able to stand and maintain attention for shift entirety. We do not sit or utilize phones while on shift at Market.

4.     Available to work early hours (7am) on weekends.

Performance Standards:

1.     Positive customer feedback about customer experiences.

2.     Low/no percentage of discrepancy between recorded sales and monetary calculations.

3.     Maintaining and/or increasing market gross sales.

4.     Reliable availability March-December
